Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on every body system functioning smoothly together. This not only includes the skeleton, muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues, but also organs, blood vessels, the lymphatic system, nerves, and also the mind. Osteopaths seek out the cause of an issue rather than just treating the symptoms. We aim to resolve not only painful areas, but to greatly improve your overall wellbeing. Patients often report better sleep and more energy after having had treatments.
Osteopaths work to restore your body to a state of balance, where possible without the use of drugs or surgery. As Osteopaths we use touch, physical manipulation, stretching and massage to increase the mobility of joints, to relieve muscle tension, to enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues and organs, and to help improve your body’s own healing mechanisms. We also provide lifestyle advice and exercise programmes to aid recovery, promote health and prevent symptoms recurring.
We are trained to identify when a patient needs to be referred to a GP or needs further tests to help diagnose a problem. All osteopaths in the UK are governed and regulated by the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC).
We are required to renew our registration each year and obtain an annual licence to practise. As part of this process, the GOsC checks that Osteopaths have current professional indemnity insurance, remain in good health and of good character, and have met mandatory continuing professional development requirements.
Common difficulties that Osteopathy can really help with include:
- Arthritic pain
- Circulatory problems
- Cramp
- Digestion problems
- Fibromyalgia

Osteopathy for Babies & Children
Please book in using your child's name and DOB - if you already have an account with us, please create a new profile for your little one by selecting 'Add a family member' under My Account > Family Members.
Osteopathy is gentle and effective for children at all stages of development - Rebecca will assess your child to see what might help.
Cranial Osteopathy is most often used to help soothe and relax babies and children - as Osteopaths we adopt an evidence-based approach, and several studies have shown the benefit of Cranial Osteopathy for little ones.
You might have been recommended to come and see us by a midwife, health visitor or friend. There might be a specific problem to assess or just an overall check up, to help give you peace of mind.
Whatever the reason, Rebecca's experience and training in cranial osteopathy and paediatric care will ensure you are in safe hands.
She will carefully assess your little one for any stresses or strains which may be causing them discomfort.
Pregnancy Care
Osteopathy is a very safe and effective form of pain relief during pregnancy. During pregnancy, you may experience physical, hormonal and emotional changes, which can have a direct impact on how your body feels. Osteopathy can ease your journey through this important period.
Common difficulties during pregnancy include:
- Pelvic girdle pain
- Back pain
- Rib pain
- Hip pain
- Swollen legs
- Bladder and/or bowel difficulties
Having completed a specialist two-year post-graduate diploma in Women’s Health, Cheryl is determined to improve the standard of perinatal care. Alongside her Mummy MOT® training Cheryl is also a certified Body Ready Birth® teacher, and is currently training to become a Pregnancy & Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist, so she is able to provide specialist exercise advice for your pregnancy.
Your Pregnancy Osteopathy appointment includes:

- Pelvic floor muscle assessment (externally)

As well as Pregnancy Osteopathy, Cheryl also offers Body Ready Birth® 1:1 workshops.
Postnatal Care
Up to half of all postnatal people experience difficulties in both the abdominal muscles and pelvic floor muscles after pregnancy, and up to a third have a tummy gap at eight weeks post-birth. This can lead to the development of pelvic and/or back pain, and/or bladder, bowel and sexual dysfunction.
New parents need to bend, squat and lift daily, so we provide postnatal clinical care and at-home exercise programmes in order to feel strong and efficient in these movements.
Your Postnatal Check includes:
- Full postural screen
- Screening for bladder, bowel or sexual dysfunction
- Checking the healing of abdominal (C-Section) scars, or episiotomies
- Pelvic floor muscle assessment
- Abdominal muscle exam to check for any diastasis recti abdominis (DRA)
- Education and advice on activities such as lifting your baby or pushing a buggy
- Bespoke rehabilitation programme with your goals and lifestyle factors in mind
Cheryl also utilises Low Level Laser Therapy and LPG Endermologie® to help any scars heal to their best potential.
If it has been over 2 years since your last pregnancy, please book a Pelvic Health appointment instead.

Pelvic Health Care
Pelvic Health is the best possible functioning and management of the bladder, bowel, and reproductive organs. It is not merely the absence of disease in these organs - pelvic health plays an important role in complete physical, mental, social, and sexual well-being.
Poor pelvic health could look like:
- Bladder or bowel incontinence
- Constipation
- Pelvic organ prolapse
- Pelvic pain
- Painful sex
- Lower back pain
- Hip pain
A healthy pelvic floor and core means:
- Improved bladder and bowel control
- Reduced risk of pelvic organ prolapse
- Better sex
- Decreased social stress and increased confidence
- Reduced risk of falls as you age
Your Pelvic Health appointment includes:
- Comprehensive case history screening for bladder, bowel or sexual dysfunction
- Full postural screen
- Pelvic floor muscle assessment (this can be external if you do not want to have an internal assessment)
- Education and advice on daily activities as well as exercise
- Bespoke rehabilitation programme with your goals and lifestyle factors in mind
Sports Massage Therapy
Sports massage is a specialised deep tissue massage. Problem areas are identified in the soft tissues (muscles, joints, fascia, ligaments and tendons) and a customised treatment is provided with the aim of maximising function and restoring the body to a pain-free, balanced state.
The massage treatments employ a variety of techniques which are highly effective and proven in relieving pain, rehabilitating injury, facilitating movement and releasing stress - whether the result of sport or leisure pursuits, a demanding job or lifestyle, or medical conditions such as arthritis.
Sports Massage Therapy is not only for sports people. It is a safe and effective treatment which can benefit the wider non-sporting population - people of all ages and condition, who may never have played sports!
Rebecca is also a qualified Osteopath.
